Not sure what gun to buy your new shooter? Here is a down and dirty description of the different types. This list is by no means going to make you an expert, only studying, practice and time will do that; but this will at least get you started.
The Basic Shotgun Coach Certification Program is designed for prospective coaches wishing to start or join a youth clay target or action shooting sports team as a coach or an adult volunteer. The intuitive, primarily online-based curriculum certifies coaches to work with beginning and novice athletes involved in the shotgun sports of American Trap, American Skeet, and Sporting Clays.
The course is designed to teach basic shotgun coaching techniques and team management fundamentals for leading youth trap, sporting clays and/or skeet teams.
Before registering for a Range Day, you must first complete the required online Basic Shotgun Coach Training
Registration for established Trap athletes is in August. Registration for New athletes is in January.
Practices- Trap practice is every Monday @ 4pm starting in early September at the Clinton County Sportsmans Club.
Meets are Saturdays at 8AM.
*NOTE ON MEETS* If you aren't early, you're late. Please do your best to be on time. Also, you must be signed up through TeamSnap with your intended disciplines in the notes 72 hours BEFORE the meet. Making changes to the squads just before a meet is difficult.
With so many options to choose from, which gun is right for your child? Brand and type are personal preference. However, fit it correctly! Take the time to make sure your child is comfortable with their chosen gun for the best chance at success.
