State Information 2023

North Scott Trap Team State Info 2023
This is good information for you first time state shooters. It is by no means all inclusive, and as always if you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask!!
-This year state is Tuesday, June 6th through Sunday, June 11

-The team schedule breaks down as follows-

*Wednesday is intermediate singles (200) Half in the morning, half in the afternoon. A team luncheon is provided.

*Thursday is all squads Handicap and Doubles (100)

*Friday is a team day, practice typically in the afternoon followed by team dinner, usually at the campsite. More specifics TBD

*Saturday is high school singles (200)

*Sunday (if needed) shootoffs
It is not required that you are there the entire time, but you are welcome. For those of you not camping, we generally congregate around those that are during the day so that everyone has a base camp of sorts for equipment repair or cleaning, eating, staying out of trouble, etc.

Parents are responsible for transportation and accommodations. A block of hotel rooms is available at Country Inns and Suites in Cedar Falls (319) 269-1800. Rooms are limited so book early! Camping is also available on site, but you MUST register ASAP. The club will provide all needed ammo for competition and practice based on your disciplines. You are welcome to shoot them all if you're registered for them, but it is not required. Some kids opt to just shoot singles at state and that is just fine.

If you've never been, please know that this place is BIG. There are trap houses as far as you can see in both directions. There are plenty of shiny things for you to spend money on right there on site at the club. Several colleges are represented, there are recruiters everywhere. There are several food vendors, the shirt vendor that I swear only has to work a few days a year they're so popular, and I will say that the gunsmith that is typically there is very good and reasonably priced. Alexa got a significant trigger problem fixed overnight, didn't miss any competition and got out of it for under $100.
**If you intend to go, and all are welcome, even rookies are encouraged. Chuck or Gabe must know NO LATER than April 1st. There is a lot of work that goes into squadding for this event and it must be done right the first time. We deal with 80 kids, the state score keepers deal with 4,000. There is no fixing it last minute.
